Regulatory Consultant

Summary

The Regulators uses a team of expert consultants to provide cost-effective, practical advice and training to local governments, public authorities, law enforcement and Provincial and Federal authorities.

We seek part-time Consultants with a wide range of experiences in police, bylaw, health, environmental, legal, and other specialized areas.  Our ideal candidates have experience in regulatory compliance including crime reduction strategies, training enforcement staff and officers, and/or updating policies, bylaws, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising on compliance, enforcement and crime reduction
  • Developing strategic community plans to reduce crime
  • Reviewing and updating government policies, bylaws, and regulations
  • Training enforcement staff and peace officers

Qualifications

  • Education or training in law enforcement or related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in police, bylaw, or other forms of regulatory compliance and enforcement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
  • Ability to balance broad organizational goals with attention to detail

Salary

  • Based on contract or percentage of billable time
  • This is a part-time, contract position best suited for those whose employers will permit as such or others who may be retired
